What this is
Companies that build artificial intelligence pay for copies of everyday business records, because their software learns from real examples of how work gets done. Montlake Licensing arranges the sale under a written agreement, removes all names and private details first, and you get paid. You keep your original files.
What gets bought
Records that show a problem, what your team did about it, and how it turned out. For a freight company, that means price quotes, shipment records and the emails behind them. For an engineering firm, it means calculations, drawings, design reviews and questions from builders. Buyers do not want contact lists, and they never receive your customers' identities.
What stays private
The names of customers, suppliers and clients. The names, email addresses and phone numbers of any person. Prices tied to a named customer. Passwords, card numbers and bank details. Anything else you choose to leave out. You approve a sample with the names removed before anything is shared.
How it works
- We talk for 15 minutes about the software you use. You do not upload anything.
- Your team confirms record counts with a few screenshots. This takes about two hours.
- We agree in writing on what is included and what it may be used for. Your lawyer reviews it.
- We find a buyer. Nothing moves until the buyer signs.
- Names and private details are removed, you approve a sample, the copy is delivered, and you are paid.
